B.K. Kirkland is a Paterson, New Jersey native. On Friday, March 12, 2021, he was honored with a Proclamation from his hometown for his legacy in radio, for his work for the culture, and for all of his accomplishments through his career.

An Eastside High school graduate and a William Paterson College graduate, B.K. has brought Paterson with him through all of his achievements around the world. His hometown has honored him for being a lifelong Ambassador for their city.
