Saying Goodbye to “Kool & The Gang’s” Ronald Bell

My sincere condolences to Robert "Kool" Bell and Tia Sinclair Bayaan for the loss of Khalis. This past July, I had the honor of hosting “Kool & The Gang” in a Virtual Town Hall on Sirius XM’s The Groove. It's a 1-hour interview where Khalis is prominent.

The co-founder, songwriter, saxophonist, vocalist and producer of “Kool & The Gang” was 68.

Someone asked the question recently, which band from back in the day had the best horn section? Missing was “Kool & The Gang” led by Khalis, along with DT, and Spike. I spent the day listening to selections where the horn section was out front and these cats could blow with anybody. Summer Madness, Universal Sound, Wild & Peaceful. Well Done Khalis. RIP.
